Fitness and laughter?

If you hear fits of laughter every Monday evening, it’s likely to be these two!

Here’s what Paul has to say:

Since the beginning of this year I have been training with Sam, it was a tough choice to make, but I’m really pleased I chose Sam.

I had got to know Sam a little around the gym and had seen him training other clients and was interested in what they had been doing.

First session I had with him I was asked what I wanted to get out of it, which was simple really. I want to get fit and I’d seen other people in the gym doing weights which was something I wasn’t too familiar with. I wanted to up my game, try something different, burn the fat off and put on some muscle.

So we started and I’m amazed at my progress over the last eight months. Unfortunately for Sam I have an active social life and there’s not much he can do to curb me from the weekend drinking! Even so I have continued to make progress because his training is just as good as his banter. He also 100% did not write that part himself…

Recently I felt progress was slow with the bench press, for a few weeks it had stalled compared to other lifts and I felt something wasn’t right. So during one of my sessions we looked at my form and Sam immediately spotted some problems and we worked on them. Sometimes there is a lot of information to take in and I’m not afraid to ask questions or admit I don’t get it.

After working a lot on technique for two weeks then suddenly I set a new PB; I was so pleased and have since surpassed that. Having someone to work with you to help to push your limits I find really beneficial, if I had just joined a gym without any support I’d think I would have quit ages ago.

With Sam’s guidance, support and the programme he set me I’m in the gym 3 to 4 times a week pushing myself. I’m seeing the gains from that and most weeks I’m setting new PB’s regularly (which is a great motivator). It’s not easy and I let Sam know this at every opportunity, he’s probably sick of my moaning.

I’d personally recommend Sam to anyone. He cares and will take as much time needed to ensure you understand the exercise he is teaching you and what benefits it brings. He will adapt his approach if I’m not getting it right and will respond to my questions over texts if I have anything I need to know.

Better Body Group has been a great decision for me; love the atmosphere though I sometimes question the music! Everyone makes you feel very welcome.

So if you’re looking for help to become a fitter you I highly recommend Sam and the team, pop down. Best decision I made, he deserves a beer or two!
