VO2 for Triathletes
Swim, Bike, Run Faster
A VO₂ gas-analysis test measures your engine breath-by-breath, then converts it into swim-bike-run power/HR/pace targets and fueling caps so you stop over-biking, avoid bonks/GI issues, and run strong off T2; you leave with VO₂max, thresholds and FatMax, VT1 and VT2, and device-synced zones(Garmin/TrainingPeaks) so every session attacks your real limiter and translates into faster splits and new PBs.

Information
Get precise swim, bike, and run zones (HR/power/pace) so you cap the bike correctly and still run strong off T2, no more overbiking blow-ups.
Your FatMax and carb-burn rates translate into grams-per-hour fueling targets, cutting bonks and GI distress from T1 to the finish.
Thresholds show the power/HR ceiling that minimises HR drift and leg heaviness when switching from bike to run, making bricks feel smoother and faster.
Breath-by-breath data sets sustainable intensities that reduce decoupling in heat/humidity, helping you hold pace late in the bike and through the run.
Identify your true limiter (VO₂ capacity vs. threshold vs. fat-oxidation) and target it with the right sessions in each discipline, more gain, less volume, measurable progress every re-test.

Snapshots from Your Report
This merely shows parts of the report that you will receive to a dedicated app on your phone from which you can check your progress as you retest, improve and reset your training and nutrition.
FAQs
Start with your priority limiter (often the bike), then do the other within 1–2 weeks; we can do both in one visit with a rest block if needed.
The test is done on a calibrated Tacx bike ergometer to ensure data accuracy and retest validity. You are welcome to bring your own pedals. You’ll leave with precise power and heart-rate zones for endurance, tempo, threshold, and VO₂ work.
The test sets discipline-specific caps and targets so you don’t over-bike, you pace the run strong off T2, and you know exactly where to sit on hills, into wind, and in heat.
Yes, breath analysis estimates fat vs. carb use at different intensities so we translate that into grams of carbs per hour and pacing guidance to avoid bonks and GI distress.
Gas analysis is on bike and treadmill; for the swim we convert your thresholds to swim pacing guidance using your heart rate monitor information from the swim.
Avoid hard sessions 24 hours prior, arrive hydrated, have a light meal 3 hours before your test and avoid caffeine 3 hours prior to testing. Re-test every 8–12 weeks (or after a training block) to track progress and reset zones.
Your VO₂max, ventilatory thresholds (VT1/VT2), precise power and HR zones, your FatMax (best fat-burn range), lung capacity and utilisation, fat burning efficiency, recovery capacity and health vs biological age.
