Matt joins us with a wealth of experience for your fat loss journey and is supportive and encouraging and will be very passionate about your journey.
After completing level 2 and 3 personal training certificates at college, Matt completed a degree in BSc Sport and Exercise for Health at the University of Kent. During his final year, he joined our internship programme after hearing a passionate lecture by the team at a Uni open day. Through the successful completion of this internship, Matt joins the team as a full-time personal trainer.
After playing rugby at school, Matt’s interest in health and exercise developed rapidly through his own personal fitness journey. The pursuit of self-betterment drove Matt to turn his life around after struggling with weight issues through adolescence. He’ll tell anyone who will listen how crucial regular exercise was in his physical and mental transformation.
Throughout his time at Uni, Matt gained experience as a trainer spending the last few years as a freelance PT. This coupled with the knowledge gained in his degree, and personal journey, has given Matt an interest in a range of areas. From fat-loss and strength development to special populations and nutrition, with a particular enthusiasm for tackling obesity.
As a trainer, Matt believes in the continual development of knowledge and understanding of exercise science. He considers this paramount to being an effective PT and feels BBG is the best place to achieve this. He aims to go above and beyond for all his clients.
With two Georges and two Hannah’s, Matt continues the theme of BBG trainers sharing names. After brief discussion between the Matts’, they have agreed to formally go by long-haired Matt and short-haired Matt, in a bid to avoid confusion.
