Physiotherapy – rehabilitation AND prevention
MOVE better, FEEL better, PERFORM better
And we’re not just talking about sport but in all aspects of our daily lives. Physiotherapists are trained in biomechanical analysis, including movement dysfunction and the compensatory patterns that can develop as a result. Pain and altered force transmission can arise from pathology, involvement in task repetition or sustaining poor postures.
Advanced Physiotherapy at the BBG – Perfectly placed for all your health and fitness needs
Introducing Claire (MCSP, Certified AposTherapist, AACP registered)
“My passion and lifelong involvement in competitive sport (and the niggling injuries that came with it!) led me directly into the physiotherapy profession. During my time in Australia I further specialized in musculoskeletal and sports injuries, and performance analysis. Qualifying as a ‘dma Advanced Clinical Pilates’ Instructor, in addition to other certifications in fitness, nutrition, and swim teaching/coaching, meant that I was able to provide the holistic approach necessary for my clients to improve and meet their challenges. The importance of this continues to be the basis of my treatment approach and is why working with other health and fitness professionals in this environment is so important.
Now a triathlete (Somehow managing to complete two ironman distance races in the last 12 months!), I am keen to continue to help others improve their health and performance, and to remain doing the things they love. At Advanced Physiotherapy I provide AposTherapy and running analysis consultations and treatments”
AposTherapy – drug-free, non-surgical and clinically proven therapy.
Primarily developed for knee problems but also effective for hip, back and ankle conditions, an AposTherapy assessment involves an in-depth, individual clinical analysis of the problem joints. This allows the development of a personalized and functional treatment program, from which clients can benefit from significant pain relief, improved function, accelerated rehabilitation and often avoidance of surgery.
‘Apos’ boots with ‘Pertupods’ attached to the base are worn as part of normal daily routine within the home and/or work environments, and are designed to release the pressure on the painful joints by altering the position of the forces acting on them. The calibrations are specific to the individual and the functional and repetitive movement encourages improved neuromuscular control through motor relearning, re-educating the muscles to support the joints correctly and often allowing people to return to previously restricted activities.
