Goal Setting
Here at BBG we pride ourselves in good looks, great sense of humour, providing the biggest climbing rig in the world… and also attaining client’s realistic goals.
My question to you is what are your goals and how are you planning on successfully achieving them in the right manor.
I am going to provide you with the one of the simplest yet effect ways to breakdown a goal with the simple S.M.A.R.T. method.
Specific; your plan needs to be specific to YOU, keep your goals clear and stick to them.
Measurable; How are you going to measure this goal? When setting the goal give a date at which this is to be achieved, providing a time scale to the goal will allow you to break down smaller targets along the journey which will allow you to measure if you are on track.
Achievable; Your goals need to realistic in terms of time, age, ability etc. you aren’t competing against anyone but yourself. Make sure the goals are challenging but attainable. Once the goal is achieved then you can assess when and where to progress to.
Realistic; Is the goal you have set applied to YOU, make sure you are trying to achieve it for the right reasons. If your aim isn’t genuine you may struggle motivating yourself further down the line. Make sure you’re willing to put the work in for it and sticking to it.
Time; Put a date on when this goal needs to be achieved, knowing there is a deadline to this goal will motivate and keep you focused on what you want to achieve.
So where to go from here?
Have a good think on what you want to achieve, these goals can be 6 week goals, 3 month goals even a year goal. Everyone here at BBG are willing to do whatever we can to successfully smash these goals!
Don’t forget, goals don’t always have to be applied in the gym environment, you might want to learn an instrument, learn a language, save X amount of money. All these potential goals can be applied using the S.M.A.R.T method.
Keep putting the hard work in.
