When trying to lose body fat we have to be in a calorie deficit (eat less calories than you use). To do this we tend to exercise more and select lower calorie foods. However this can lead to us cutting back on those treats that we love so much including ice cream. Here is a calorie friendly dessert which may satisfy this need.

 

Original recipe 

Ingredients

  • 1 medium banana

Method

  • Peel and slice the banana, place in a freezing bag and put in the freezer until frozen solid (minimum 2 hours).
  • Place in a blender or food processer and blast it until smooth.
  • Sit back and relax, put on your favourite box set, currently game of thrones, with some calorie friendly ice cream. Job done!

You can either enjoy the natural sweet banana taste for just 105 calories or you can get creative and play around with the flavours. Here are a few of my favourites:

 

Almond butter ice cream

Original recipe + 1 tsp almond butter

Calories =138 calories

Carbs = 28g

Fats = 3g

Protein = 2g

 

Dairy milk ice cream

Original recipe + 2 squares of Cadburys dairy milk chocolate

Calories= 153

Carbs = 32g

Fats = 3g

Protein = 2g

 

Oreo ice cream

Original recipe + 2 Oreo cookies

Calories= 212

Carbs = 44g

Fats = 5g

Protein = 2g

 

Protein ice cream

Original recipe + 1 scoop of your favourite flavour protein powder (I use chocolate mint)

Calories= 206

Carbs = 28g

Fats = 2g

Protein = 22g
