This recipe is a quick, simple and nutritious alternative to regular burgers and with more flavour and good stuff inside to boot!

It’s a winner if you’re trying to live a healthier lifestyle, lose fat or whatever your goal may be

Ingredients list:

  • 500g lean mince (5% fat)
  • 2 Large free range eggs
  • 1-2 Fresh chillies
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 large red onion
  • Salt, pepper, spices
  • Large lettuce
  • Beefsteak tomato
  • 1 Avocado

Method:

  • Mix 500g lean beef mince into a mixing bowl with 2 large free range eggs, chopped fresh chilli, crushed garlic, chopped red onion (save a couple of rings for serving), salt & pepper and any other spices you may like (crushed chillies, cayenne pepper, paprika etc.)
  • Get stuck in and form into glorious burgers, get a pan sizzling hot with either  1 teaspoon of coconut, avocado, rapeseed oil or fry light (for the lowest calories option). Pop in for 5-10 minutes until cooked to your liking (I like mine medium-rare, with a little pinkiness)
  • De-stone, scoop out and finely chop half an avocado and rest it on top of the burger
  • Serve in between 2 fresh lettuce leaves, add some uncooked red onion rings and slices of beefsteak tomato and you’re ready to get your eat on
