Before I started training with the BBG, my life was very similar to other people that had just started there. I also had a desk job, bad eating habits, too busy/lazy to exercise or any excuse to hand!
In my case, throw a major operation and being made redundant from work into the mix on top of everything else and before long, I had put on far too much weight for my liking.
I tried to lose weight little by little but gave up far too easily and slipped back into the old routine time and time again – good old comfort eating! Needless to say I felt very lazy, sluggish, lethargic and very unhappy at times.

The only feel good positive moments was when I started my current job and passing my ASA Level 1 Teaching Aquatics and my National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers and Coaches this year as I am hoping to become a fully qualified swimming teacher / coach.

I joined a gym but hardly used it, my induction consisted of walking on a treadmill for around three quarters of an hour and listening to that member of staff talk constantly about their life, not much motivation there then! The only time I go back there now is to use the swimming pool for my training sessions, I had paid for a years membership up front so it is a very expensive swim! Lesson learnt!

My sister has been training at the BBG for around 14 months and absolutely loves it, she has done so well and is much happier which is good for me!
She told me all about her training sessions when she first started and how friendly everyone is and that I should try it.
I had 2 sessions with Jason before I went into hospital (a year ago) and really enjoyed them, I then had another one 6 months after my operation but found it difficult as I was still recovering.

Fast forward to December and I have just completed 11 sessions, twice a week for 5 weeks, changed my eating habits dramatically, become good at cooking and I have lost just over a stone in weight!
I have trained with all the Chris’s and George and have thoroughly enjoyed every session. They have all encouraged and made me feel good about myself, even when I have a bright red sweaty face!!
At the end of the session, I always leave with a big smile because I know I have been made to work hard and push myself and I feel so good for it. Or had a bit of cheeky banter, boys will be boys!!

The nutrition plan was quite a challenge to begin with as it is low carbs and I found I was having cravings for bread rolls, my sister tried to help me by taking them home with her so I would not be tempted and I actually shouted NO, NO at her!!
Once I got used to it and spoke to James for more advice and recipes, I have been cooking up a storm in my kitchen and I am now allowed treats, but I know my limits.

I am loving every part of my life at the moment and could not be happier. I am so glad that I came to the BBG and am truly grateful to everyone, I never thought I would meet so many fantastic people that would have such an impact on my life.
